State Senate candidate Joe Rand will hold a community meet-and-greet tomorrow evening in New Hempstead, continuing a series of stops across Rockland County aimed at meeting residents and hearing their priorities.

The event, hosted by Pinny Kohn at the Kohn Residence, 10 Salem Ct., New Hempstead, is scheduled for Thursday, September 3, at 8:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and everyone is welcome.

The gathering follows recent meet-and-greets in Pomona, Montebello, and Chestnut Ridge as Rand continues bringing his campaign directly to communities across the county.

Rand is also pointing to his record as Nyack mayor, where his administration has advanced infrastructure and transportation initiatives. As previously reported by Monsey Scoop, Nyack recently celebrated the completion of a new shoreline pathway at Memorial Park, expanding public access to the Hudson River waterfront and enhancing the village’s recreational spaces.

On transportation, Monsey Scoop previously reported on Nyack’s new free “Hoppy” intra-village shuttle, an electric service designed to improve local transportation access while helping ease downtown parking congestion. The project is being funded through a Rockland County grant.

Those local projects are part of the experience Rand is bringing with him as he seeks to take his work on infrastructure, transportation, and securing resources to communities throughout Rockland County.

Tomorrow’s New Hempstead event will give residents another opportunity to meet Rand directly, ask questions, and hear his vision for the community and the county.
