MK Maklev Bids Farewell: “I Was Privileged to Receive This Shlichus And Tried To Carry It Out Faithfully”
MK Uri Maklev published a farewell and thank-you letter to the public, summing up his years of public activity and service in the Knesset following Degel HaTorah’s announcement of his departure.
In his remarks, he noted that he had done his utmost to remain attentive to the public’s needs and to work on behalf of Jewish sacred values and public institutions with faithfulness and integrity, with a sense of mission that had not diminished from his first day to his last.
As one of the central achievements of his tenure, Maklev cited his initiative to establish the “Chareidi Authority,” which currently operates successfully in 57 local authorities.
Maklev thanked the public for its cooperation and support throughout the years and made clear that he has the desire and willingness to continue serving the public from any position, to the extent possible.
Maklev added: “Throughout the journey, you gave me feedback, strength and appreciation, through a special and fruitful cooperation, and I am grateful for that. Every day, I felt the shlichus anew, as though I had begun it that very day. The shlichus was no more burdensome to me on my last day than on my first. I have the desire and willingness to continue serving and doing everything in my power for the public, from any position, to the extent that I am able.”
