Assemblyman Aron Wieder Presents $30,000 Grant to South Orangetown Ambulance Corps

Sep 10, 2026·2 min read

Assemblyman Aron Wieder presented a $30,000 state grant to the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps this week at a check presentation held outside the Corps’ headquarters.

The funding will be used to outfit ambulances and fly cars with critical life-saving equipment, enhancing the Corps’ ability to respond to emergencies across Orangetown.

Wieder, who secured the funding, said supporting volunteer emergency services remains a top priority.

“I’m so glad to be here in South Orangetown with such wonderful volunteers who have one mission, and that is to save lives,” Wieder said. “I was extremely fortunate to become a partner. We were able to secure a grant that is going to equip many of the ambulances and the fly cars with crucial equipment when every second in a person’s life matters, and they will be able to do their jobs so much better.”

The Assemblyman thanked the members for their around-the-clock service to the community.

“I want to thank all of you for the job that you do, and thank you very much,” he added.

The South Orangetown Ambulance Corps is an all-volunteer agency providing emergency medical services to residents throughout Orangetown. The grant will help ensure its volunteers have updated equipment to continue delivering rapid, high-quality emergency care.

The $30,000 grant is part of $350,000 in state funding Wieder secured for local organizations across the 97th District.
