Germany’s federal prosecutors have filed an indictment against seven suspects linked to Hamas who, according to the indictment, were involved in preparations for attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in the country.

According to the indictment, the targets included Israeli diplomats, Jewish community centers, and pro-Israel demonstrations. Reports indicate that the attacks were planned, among other occasions, around events commemorating the October 7 massacre.

Prosecutors allege that members of the network acted on the instructions of senior Hamas officials and were involved in acquiring weapons in Germany. As part of their activities, they obtained an automatic rifle, 13 handguns, and more than 700 rounds of ammunition, which were allegedly intended for use in carrying out the attacks.

Another unusual detail reported is that one of the defendants served as an informant for Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution during the period in which the activities attributed to the network were taking place.
