A serious crash involving a garbage truck and a passenger vehicle in Wesley Hills on Monday morning left one person dead and another hospitalized.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 202 and Wilder Road. Emergency personnel responding to the scene found two occupants of the passenger vehicle trapped inside.

The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger was extricated from the vehicle and transported by Hatzoloh to Westchester Medical Center for further treatment.

Following the crash, Ramapo Police closed Route 202 between Lime Kiln Road and Route 306 as investigators worked at the scene. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes and exercise caution due to rainy conditions.

A name for Tehillim or Chevra Kadisha services are not needed in this tragic incident.
