A memorable and lighthearted moment unfolded during a private Simchas Beis Hashoeva held for supporters and donors of Keren Olam HaTorah, when Mashgiach HaGaon HaRav Don Segal delivered a bracha to those helping sustain the Olam HaTorah.

During his remarks, the Mashgiach turned to the assembled supporters and blessed them with “parnassah”.

But R’ Reuven Wolf, chairman of Keren Olam HaTorah, who was seated nearby, quickly interjected with a humorous correction.

“עשירות! עשירות! פרנסה זה לגויים” — “Wealth! Wealth! Parnassah is for the goyim.”

Rav Don accepted the correction with a smile and immediately delivered a sharp response of his own:

“Indeed, only someone who is wealthy can say such a thing.”

The spontaneous exchange drew smiles from those gathered and became one of the memorable moments of the evening.

The exclusive Simchas Beis Hashoeva was held in honor of the philanthropists and supporters who have taken a leading role in supporting Keren Olam HaTorah and helping sustain yeshivos and kollelim across Eretz Yisroel.
