SUKKOS VISIT: U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee Meets Israel’s Chief Rabbis

Oct 1, 2026·2 min read

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee paid an official Sukkos visit Thursday to the home of Sephardic Chief Rabbi and Rishon LeTzion HaGaon HaRav Dovid Yosef, joined by Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi HaGaon HaRav Kalman Meir Ber.

The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere and focused on strengthening ties between the United States and Israel, combating antisemitism, and protecting Jewish communities around the world.

During the meeting, the Chief Rabbis expressed their appreciation to President Donald Trump for what they described as his steadfast support for Israel and the Jewish people, calling him a “true friend” and “one of the righteous among the nations.”

The Rabbanim also thanked Ambassador Huckabee for his work on behalf of the U.S.-Israel relationship and his efforts to strengthen cooperation between Washington and Yerushalayim.

A significant portion of the discussion focused on the worldwide rise in antisemitism and attacks targeting Jews. The Chief Rabbis praised efforts by the U.S. administration to combat antisemitism and stressed the importance of continued cooperation to protect Jewish communities in the Diaspora.

The participants also discussed initiatives to bring together prominent religious leaders from around the world to encourage tolerance, strengthen interfaith dialogue and combat religious hatred.

Huckabee said following the meeting that it had been an honor to meet the Chief Rabbis during Sukkos.

“It was a great honor for me to meet with Israel’s Chief Rabbis, the Rishon LeTzion and Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Yosef, and the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Kalman Ber, during the days of Sukkos,” Huckabee said.

“I reiterated the United States’ commitment to preserving Jewish heritage and thanked the Chief Rabbis for their leadership and their work in guiding Jewish life,” he added.
