Israel’s Minister of Environmental Protection, Idit Silman, currently visiting the United States, paid a late-evening visit to the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s home at 1304 President Street in Crown Heights.
Upon arriving at the President Street home, Silman was greeted by Rabbi Mendel Krinsky, who accompanied her inside. She spent some private time in prayer and reciting Tehillim, after which Rabbi Krinsky gave her a tour of the ground floor of the stately home.
Silman, a mother of three, remarked on the home’s simplicity and understated elegance, and on the sense of wholesomeness that permeates it. She expressed her deep appreciation for the opportunity to visit the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s home, particularly on such short notice and at so late an hour.
On her social media pages, Silman wrote that she had begun her important visit to the United States with a visit to the Rebbe’s home, sharing photographs and video of the simple kitchen and dining room.
