LifeAct will host its fourth annual Move for Mental Health 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk on Oct. 11 at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo at 3900 Wildlife Way in Cleveland.
LifeAct’s programs educate middle and high school students about recognizing warning signs of anxiety, depression and suicide in themselves and their peers and how to seek help. The programs provided at no cost to participating schools, served more than 35,000 students last year. Proceeds from the event will support LifeAct’s efforts to provide its programming to more schools and students across Northeast Ohio.
The 5k timed walk starts at 8:30 a.m., and is $35 for adults or $25 for ages 17 and under. The 1 mile walk starts at 8:45, and is $35. Nonrunners, dubbed “cheerleaders,” are $12. Prices for attendance will increase day-of-run.
