Sa’ar Warns: “They Want To Force A Terror State On Israel In The Heart Of The Country”
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar took advantage of the Foreign Ministry’s October 7 memorial ceremony on Tuesday to deliver a sharply worded diplomatic message in response to international pressure on Israel.
In his remarks, Sa’ar said: “We are facing an attempt to push Israel into indefensible borders, precisely after it has been proven beyond any doubt that we need a minimum degree of geographic depth.”
“The entire purpose of the international diplomatic, legal and economic pressure is to force Israel to establish a Palestinian terror state in the heart of our country. This state will undoubtedly serve as a springboard in the ongoing campaign to destroy Israel in accordance with the ‘phased plan.’”
Addressing the complex diplomatic front, Sa’ar stressed that Israel is taking the initiative rather than limiting itself to passive defense. “We are fighting daily defensive battles, but we are also breaking new ground. We are taking advantage of opportunities, creating new ties, renewing relations and expanding Israel’s diplomatic network,” he said.
“We do not have the privilege of surrendering, and we must ensure that anyone who acts against us does not benefit from it, but rather the opposite.”
Concluding his remarks, Sa’ar addressed Israel’s internal political tensions and heated public discourse, calling for calm and national unity. “We’re in an election period, which is always challenging for any democratic society,” he said. “Let us remember that we are brothers and are surrounded by enemies. Someone who thinks differently from us is not an enemy.”
