In recent years, Dovid Taub has created a new Parshah project each year, including the Parshah Rabbit Hole, Parshah songs and the Parshah Almanac. This year, immediately after Simchas Torah, Taub launched “Creative Judaism Games.”
The website offers four daily games. “Parshah Doodle” features a whimsical drawing in Taub’s signature style and challenges the player to determine which Pasuk inspired it. “Parshometry” asks the player to rank five words in order of how many times they appear in the Parshah. “Fraudrash” presents four statements and the player has to figure out which one is not an actual Midrashic teaching. In “Portions,” players are given a target concept and must figure out which two emojis combine to represent it, based on ideas from that day’s Aliyah in Chitas.
Taub says, “Just like with the Parshah Almanac, I tried to find different ways of engaging with the Parshah that work for different people. Some of the games are more fun after you’ve already learned Chitas. Some are fun if you’re just working from memory. Some are more straightforward, others are weird. I hope everyone can find at least one that becomes part of their daily routine.”
