Over Sukkos, hundreds of Jews visited the home of Rosh Yeshivah HaGaon HaRav Moshe Tzvi Bergman, including Gedolei Yisrael, Roshei Yeshivah, Rabbanim and marbitzei Torah, Degel HaTorah representatives, mayors and public figures.

On erev Hoshanah Rabbah, a Simchas Yom Tov gathering was held at the Rosh Yeshivah’s home, during which he delivered forceful remarks.

The Rosh Yeshivah said: “Throughout this recent period, we have merited to witness open nissim. From every direction, enemies rise up to destroy us, and HaKadosh Baruch Hu performs open nissim for us. We can tangibly see how HaKadosh Baruch Hu shelters us and protects us with special hashgachah.

“Just yesterday, we saw such a great neis with the [FlyDubai] plane, which could have ended in a terrible disaster, chas v’shalom. It is awe-inspiring to see the Yad Hashem so clearly.”

“Morai v’Rabbosai, for a long time now we have been in a state of war over the Olam HaTorah world, over the integrity of the Torah world. We should know that this is the real war — there are those who want to destroy Klal Yisrael, chas v’shalom.”

“Baruch Hashem, the bochurim and avreichim are standing strong in an extraordinary way and are moser nefesh for this, as required by halachah. And I can say that halavei (if only) I could be zocheh to share the lot of those who are moser nefesh.

“And now comes a time when everyone is busy with politics. Everyone is talking about who will be at the top. We need to know that this is not our role. We need only to sit and learn Torah. We must do what needs to be done, but the main thing is to sit and learn.

“We are maaminim bnei maaminim in the eternal promise, ‘For it shall not be forgotten from the mouths of his descendants.’ And this does not depend on anyone. The Torah Hakedoshah will prevail.”
