Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Wednesday that Hezbollah would face a major Israeli military response if it joins Iran in an attack on Israel.
“If Hezbollah joins Iran in an attack on Israel, it will suffer a severe blow and lose additional territory in southern Lebanon,” Katz said. He named the Nabatieh and Litani areas as territory that would become part of Israel’s permanent security zone.
Katz said the IDF is prepared to carry out the maneuver. He also warned that Beirut’s Dahiyeh district would be evacuated and its terror infrastructure struck, displacing more than a million Shiites within Lebanon.
Katz toured frontline villages alongside Northern Command chief Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo and 91st Division commander Brig. Gen. Yuval Gaz.
