ELECTION SECURITY: Israel’s Elections Chief Says “Elections Cannot Be Stolen” Despite Security and Cyber Threats

Oct 14, 2026·1 min read

Central Elections Committee chairman Justice Noam Solberg sought to reassure the public Wednesday that Israel’s election safeguards will protect the integrity of the vote, despite concerns about security threats, cyberattacks and attempts to use artificial intelligence to disrupt the process.

Solberg made the remarks during a tour of the committee’s logistics center ahead of elections for the 26th Knesset, where preparations are underway for a nationwide operation involving millions of voters.

“There are concerns and threats, but elections cannot be stolen. There are dozens of oversight and control measures to ensure that the results are accurate,” Solberg said.

The committee is preparing to accommodate 7,331,981 eligible voters at 12,018 polling stations across the country. Some 450 million ballot slips have been printed, and 38 party lists are expected to compete.

The logistical preparations include making voting accessible, transporting election materials and overseeing polling station operations and the counting of ballots.

Alongside those preparations, the committee is addressing potential security and technological disruptions, with oversight mechanisms intended to protect the accuracy of the results and maintain public confidence in the electoral process.
