IDF ELIMINATES HAMAS COMMANDER: Terrorist Involved in Holding Israeli Hostages Killed in Gaza
The IDF announced Wednesday that it eliminated a Hamas military commander who participated in holding Israeli hostages captive in Gaza during the war. The terrorist was killed in an Israeli airstrike carried out Tuesday in Gaza City.
The military identified the commander as Mumen Ahmad Salameh al-Ay, who served in Hamas’s Gaza City Brigade and worked alongside senior commanders in the terrorist organization.
According to the IDF, al-Ay was involved in holding hostages in the Gaza City area, although the military did not identify the individuals who had been held under his control.
In recent months, the commander had reportedly been involved in planning attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians while attempting to rebuild Hamas’s military capabilities.
The IDF said the terrorist’s activities represented a systematic violation of the ceasefire arrangements. Israeli forces carried out the strike after identifying his continued involvement in terrorist operations.
