ONLINE ANTISEMITISM: Study Finds Anti-Jewish Content Remains At Record Levels Three Years After October 7
Online antisemitism remains at its highest recorded levels three years after the October 7 Hamas massacre, with a new international study finding that anti-Jewish content continues to circulate at rates substantially above those documented before the attacks.
The Australian-based Online Hate Prevention Institute found that the most recent three-month monitoring period recorded more antisemitic content than any comparable period since the organization began tracking online hate in 2022.
Researchers examined antisemitic material across major social media platforms and found that none had returned to pre-October 7 levels. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube experienced further increases beyond the initial surge following the massacre, while several other platforms maintained elevated levels.
The study also documented the continued circulation of traditional antisemitic conspiracy theories, accusations of Jewish control and influence, and material glorifying the October 7 attacks. Researchers found that traditional forms of antisemitism remained dominant across most platforms, even as the methods used to distribute the content continued to change.
