NO NETANYAHU: Lieberman Rules Out Coalition With Prime Minister, Chareidi Parties Or Arab Lists

Oct 15, 2026·2 min read

Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman is drawing firm lines for a future coalition, ruling out any government with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the Chareidi parties, Ra’am, or the Joint List.

“We will establish a coalition made up exclusively of Zionist parties,” Lieberman said. “Without Ra’am, without the Joint List, without Shas, and without United Torah Judaism.”

Lieberman left the door open to Likud joining such a government, but insisted that Netanyahu could not be part of the arrangement.

“With Netanyahu — even if the world turns upside down, we will not sit together under any circumstances,” he declared.

He also rejected forming a minority government, including as a temporary arrangement, and expressed confidence that his preferred coalition could secure a parliamentary majority despite current polling.

“I believe we will achieve a solid majority, despite what the polls are saying,” Lieberman said.

Separately, an unnamed political source claimed that some Likud lawmakers could be willing to join an alternative coalition, arguing that frustration with the party’s dependence on its Chareidi partners could prompt defections.

“I know several MKs within Likud who understand the gravity of the moment,” the source said. “They understand that Bibi has turned them into subcontractors for Goldknopf and Deri, and therefore they would be willing to provide the numbers needed and join a Zionist coalition.”

No lawmakers were named, and the remarks did not establish that any Likud MK had committed to breaking ranks.
