Waiter Caught Stealing Credit Cards and Phones at Crown Heights Wedding
By COLlive reporter
A waiter was arrested after allegedly stealing credit cards and phones from wedding guests at Oholei Torah in Crown Heights, taking advantage of the lively atmosphere as guests were distracted by the music and dancing.
The incident came to light when a woman noticed one of the waiters slipping what appeared to be someone’s personal credit card into his pocket. She confronted him, and when he became hostile and attempted to flee, she called over friends to help.
As they intervened, they discovered that the waiter allegedly had additional items in his possession, including credit cards and phones belonging to guests. The group realized that he had apparently been taking valuables from tables and guests while everyone was occupied with the wedding festivities.
Shomrim and police were called to the scene and confirmed that the waiter had multiple credit cards and electronic devices believed to have been stolen. He was taken into custody.
