CHILLING LETTER: Sinwar’s Son Wrote Of Wanting To “Shoot Jews” At Age 10, IDF Says
The IDF on Thursday released a letter it says was written by Yahya Sinwar’s son Ibrahim at the beginning of the war, when he was just 10 years old, expressing a desire to “hold a Kalashnikov and shoot Jews.”
According to the military, Israeli troops recovered the letter in Gaza in 2024. It was published on the IDF’s English-language X account to mark two years since the Hamas leader’s elimination.
In the message, Ibrahim tells his father how much he misses him and describes spending his time making weapons out of paper and cardboard.
“My beloved father, I miss you very much! I want to hug you and see you victorious,” the letter reads, according to the released translation. It then expresses his wish to proclaim Allah’s greatness, hold a Kalashnikov, and shoot Jews.
The boy also asks when his father will return to sleep beside him and writes that he constantly makes paper and cardboard pistols, tanks, and Kalashnikovs.
Elsewhere in the letter, Ibrahim expresses hope that the war will end and that he will see his father safe, asking him to pray for him.
The accompanying drawings depict weapons, tanks near the Gaza-Israel border fence, and missiles being launched toward Israel.
“The letter and drawings illustrate how Sinwar’s murderous ideology is reflected even in the education of his children,” the IDF said, describing the material as evidence of the influence of Hamas’s values of hatred and violence on Gaza’s younger generation.
Separately, the IDF and Shin Bet announced that a strike Wednesday in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza eliminated Basel Nabil Abd al-Rahman Qishta and Ahmad Raja al-Shaer, whom they identified as terrorists involved in smuggling weapons and military equipment into the Strip.
According to the military, the two were responsible for weapons procurement and trafficking while advancing additional smuggling operations. The strike was intended to remove a threat to Israeli civilians and troops operating along the Yellow Line.
The IDF said it took steps before the strike to minimize civilian harm, including using precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
The military and Shin Bet said they would continue targeting terrorist organizations’ weapons buildup and financing to prevent the restoration of their military capabilities.
