Following a successful Tishrei season, the new owners of Biarritz Pizza and Wine Bar in Crown Heights gathered with local rabbonim and community leaders for a mezuzah hanging ceremony, marking the restaurant’s recent change in ownership.
The gathering took place at the upscale dairy restaurant at 268 Kingston Avenue, which recently welcomed new partners and returned to the kashrus supervision of the Crown Heights Beis Din (CHK).
In attendance were Rabbi Berel Levertov, Senior Rabbinical Coordinator for the Vaad Hakashrus of Crown Heights (CHK); Rabbi Menachem Mendel Yusewitz, Rov of Anshei Moshe shul and Menahel of Cheder Ohr Menachem in Crown Heights; and Shmuly Rosenstein, Acting Chairman of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC).
The ceremony followed the September announcement that Yossi and Mica Soffer, co-owners of COLlive Media Group, along with Shmulik and Aidy Soffer, had joined longtime owner and manager Clara Perez as partners in the restaurant.
The new partnership also coincided with Biarritz’s return to CHK certification, making the restaurant accessible to residents and visitors who rely on the local hechsher.
Following the mezuzah hanging, those gathered said l’chaim and offered their best wishes to the new owners for continued success.
The occasion followed a busy, successful Tishrei season, as Biarritz looks ahead to its next chapter under the new partnership.
