Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps Unveils State-of-the-Art Ambulance Simulation Training Room at Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

Oct 21, 2026·3 min read

Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps celebrated a major milestone Wednesday evening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony unveiling its brand-new, state-of-the-art Ambulance Simulation Training Room, a facility designed to provide members with realistic, hands-on emergency medical training.

The ceremony brought together Spring Hill EMS members, hospital representatives, elected officials, and community leaders, who were given a firsthand look at the innovative training facility and its advanced capabilities.

During the event, attendees watched a live emergency simulation conducted by a Spring Hill EMS crew consisting of two paramedics, two EMTs, and an observer. The crew responded to a simulated patient experiencing difficulty breathing, demonstrating the professionalism, teamwork, and high level of emergency medical care that Spring Hill personnel provide in the field.

The new training room, developed over the past year, features an exact replica of an ambulance’s patient compartment, complete with functional medical equipment and supplies. Spring Hill also invested in cutting-edge simulation technology, including a lifelike medical mannequin capable of speaking, breathing, simulating bleeding, and displaying various medical conditions to create realistic emergency scenarios.

“We pride ourselves on the training we provide to our EMTs and observers. This training room is an investment in our members, our future, and most importantly the high level of care that we provide to our community,” said Spring Hill Chief Ely Ungar.

The facility will allow Spring Hill members to practice responding to real-life medical emergencies in a controlled environment, helping them strengthen their clinical skills, critical thinking, decision-making, and teamwork before encountering similar situations during actual emergency calls.

Spring Hill President Akiva Zidell emphasized the importance of incorporating advanced technology into the organization’s training programs.

“This new training room will give our members the opportunity to utilize innovative technology to train and practice their critical thinking and hands-on skills in realistic simulations,” Zidell said.

Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps has continued expanding its emergency medical capabilities and training programs over the years. As Rockland County’s first volunteer 911 EMS agency to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) services, the organization remains focused on improving emergency medical care through extensive education, hands-on training, and investment in its members.

The organization is also preparing to host an EMT-B training course this coming January, providing additional opportunities for individuals interested in emergency medical services.

The opening of the new simulation training room represents another significant investment in Spring Hill’s future, reinforcing its commitment to equipping volunteers with the training, technology, and experience necessary to deliver high-quality emergency medical care to the Rockland County community.
