IRAN STRIKE: Netanyahu Denies Reports Trump Blocked Israeli Attack
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu rejected reports Thursday claiming that President Donald Trump prevented Israel from launching another military strike against Iran, dismissing the allegations as false amid growing speculation about a renewed confrontation with Tehran.
In an interview with Arutz Sheva, Netanyahu was asked about reports suggesting that Israel had prepared to carry out another attack against Iran but was stopped by the American president.
“That report is not true,” Netanyahu responded, declining to provide further details about Israel’s military plans.
The prime minister also discussed his previous coordination with Trump ahead of Israeli military operations against Iran, emphasizing that Israel had been prepared to act independently if necessary.
“Our existence is not a subject for negotiation,” Netanyahu declared.
According to Netanyahu, he made clear to his advisers that he intended to inform Trump of Israel’s operational plans rather than request American permission to proceed.
During a meeting with Trump, Netanyahu presented Israel’s military preparations and offered Washington an opportunity to participate in the operation, particularly in targeting Iran’s heavily fortified Fordow nuclear facility.
“I told him: ‘I would be very happy if you joined. There is a bunker there in a place called Fordow. You can bring the B-2 to bomb it. If not, we will do it, but it will be more difficult. You decide,'” Netanyahu recalled.
Trump did not immediately commit to participating, but Israel continued preparing for the operation. The United States eventually joined the military campaign on its tenth day, carrying out strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities.
Netanyahu also revealed that he had issued direct instructions to the Mossad and IDF to work toward overthrowing the Iranian regime, arguing that destroying its nuclear infrastructure alone would not eliminate the long-term threat to Israel.
“I am not demanding, I am giving instructions,” Netanyahu said. “I have instructed that the only acceptable solution here is, of course, the overthrow of this fanatical regime. I instructed the Mossad and the IDF. That is the job, that is the objective, that is the mission.”
The prime minister warned that Iran remains determined to rebuild its military capabilities despite the damage inflicted during previous Israeli and American operations.
“Israel is stronger than ever, and Iran and its axis of evil are weaker than ever,” Netanyahu said.
