Spring Valley Police have arrested a 49-year-old man in connection with a stabbing on North Main Street that left a 36-year-old victim injured over the weekend, as previously reported by Monsey Scoop.

According to an updated press release from the Spring Valley Police Department, following an extensive investigation, detectives arrested Alex Draughn, 49, of Spring Valley, on Wednesday, October 21.

Draughn was charged with Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

The incident occurred Saturday night, October 17, at approximately 8:40 p.m. outside 94 North Main Street. Responding officers found a 36-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his left arm and significant bleeding.

Officers immediately applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding before the victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center. Police said the victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Investigators determined that a dispute between the victim and the suspect led to the stabbing.

Following his arrest, Draughn was arraigned before Judge Sweet in the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail.

The charges are accusations, and Draughn is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
