BORDER BLOCKADE: Protesters Stop Gaza Aid Trucks Near Kerem Shalom, Demand Hamas Disarmament

Oct 22, 2026·2 min read

Protesters blocked approximately 50 aid trucks near the Kerem Shalom Crossing Thursday, demanding that further shipments into Gaza be conditioned on the territory’s demilitarization and the disarmament of Hamas.

The demonstration brought together Tzav 9 activists, residents of Gaza border communities and representatives of several political parties, days before the Knesset elections.

Participants included Yisrael Beytenu MK Yulia Malinovsky and Sigal Kraunik, a candidate for Ofer Winter’s Amcha Yisrael party.

Dozens of activists arrived near the crossing during the morning for a rally attended by representatives from both the coalition and opposition.

“No matter whom you vote for, Israel’s security must never be compromised,” participants declared.

The blockade disrupted aid deliveries, leaving approximately 50 trucks unable to proceed toward Gaza.

Police dispatched to the scene worked to clear the road and restore truck traffic, physically removing activists who were blocking the vehicles.

Protesters argued that aid entering Gaza provides Hamas with revenue and enables the terrorist organization to maintain its grip on power. They demanded an end to shipments they say strengthen Hamas and insisted that further deliveries be tied to demilitarization.

Organizers emphasized that the protest’s security demands crossed party lines, bringing together activists with differing political affiliations ahead of the elections.
