QATARGATE CLASH: Eisenkot Accuses Netanyahu Of Approving Urich’s Actions, Calls Him A “Full Partner”

Oct 23, 2026·2 min read

Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Thursday evening, citing remarks by close adviser Yonatan Urich that he does nothing without the prime minister’s approval.

“The excuses of ‘they did not wake me’ or ‘I did not know’ are over,” Eisenkot wrote. “Netanyahu’s closest adviser admits: I do nothing without the prime minister’s approval.”

The remarks come amid new disclosures in the Qatargate investigation. According to published interrogation transcripts, Urich acknowledged receiving hundreds of thousands of shekels for work promoting Qatar’s image, with that work continuing after the October 7 massacre and during the war.

Urich told investigators, however, that he had not informed Netanyahu about his work involving Qatar.

Despite that statement and Netanyahu’s denial of knowledge of the Qatar ties, Eisenkot argued that the prime minister bears responsibility for his adviser’s conduct.

“Netanyahu approved, knows and remains silent. He is a full partner,” Eisenkot charged.

Eisenkot further accused Netanyahu of damaging national security and corrupting the Prime Minister’s Office.

“He abandoned Israel’s security and corrupted the Prime Minister’s Office, the state’s inner sanctum,” he wrote.

The Yashar leader concluded with an appeal ahead of Tuesday’s elections, predicting that voters would replace the current leadership.

“In five days, the people of Israel will choose to remove them from office and bring in new, worthy and responsible leadership that will return Israel to the straight path,” he declared.
