OIL MANIPULATION: Trump Says Iran Is Staging Attacks To Raise Prices Ahead Of U.S. Midterms
President Donald Trump accused Iran of staging attacks and spreading false reports about mines in the Strait of Hormuz to drive up oil prices ahead of the American midterm elections.
In a post on his social media platform, Trump said Tehran was deliberately attempting to influence energy markets as voters prepare to head to the polls.
“Iran is doing everything it can to raise the price of oil ahead of the United States midterm elections,” Trump wrote, accusing the regime of fabricating incidents involving attacks and mines.
The president maintained that more oil is currently passing through the Strait of Hormuz than before the conflict began, challenging the picture of disruption presented by Tehran.
Trump did not provide evidence in the post supporting his assertion that the attacks and mine reports were staged.
He also condemned the Iranian regime’s crackdown on protesters, describing its leadership as “truly evil.”
“They continue to kill protesters and anyone who gets in their way,” Trump wrote. “I can only hope that the American public and the world understand just how evil it is.”
Trump said 75,000 protesters had been killed in Iran in less than seven months. That figure has not been independently verified, and he did not identify a source for the number in his post.
The president also blasted the Democratic Party and the international community, accusing them of indifference to the killings.
“It is shocking to see how the world and the so-called ‘Democratic’ Party seem not to care,” he wrote.
Trump concluded with another warning that Tehran would never be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons.
“Iran must not have a nuclear weapon—and it will never have a nuclear weapon,” he declared.
