IRAN WAR ALERT: US Evacuates Embassy And Military Personnel As Intelligence Warns Of Imminent Threats
The United States has begun evacuating diplomatic and military personnel from several locations across the Middle East amid growing intelligence concerns that Iran is preparing attacks against American citizens and facilities, raising fears of another round of fighting between Washington and Tehran.
According to a report By The Wall Street Journal, American intelligence officials believe Iranian preparations for attacks against US personnel have reached advanced stages, both in the Middle East and in other countries.
The warning was reportedly delivered Friday in a memorandum to Secretary of State Marco Rubio by senior American intelligence officials.
The memorandum warned that Iran had significantly intensified its efforts to target American personnel and that preparations for potentially deadly attacks had progressed considerably.
In response, Washington has ordered the evacuation of diplomatic staff from its embassy in Saudi Arabia and other locations throughout the region.
American officials also confirmed that personnel have been withdrawn from military bases as part of preparations for a possible renewal of hostilities with Iran.
Some of the evacuation measures have been linked to threats from the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen, who have increased their activities amid the growing regional tensions.
Meanwhile, the United States has updated its travel warnings for several Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Lebanon, and Israel.
The updated advisories warn of the possibility of increased regional aggression by the Houthis and other security threats.
At the same time, American warships stationed in the Middle East are reportedly preparing for a scenario in which President Donald Trump orders renewed military operations against Iran in the coming weeks.
The preparations come amid uncertainty over the future of diplomatic efforts with Tehran and concerns that Iran could launch attacks against American targets.
