Early Voting Begins Across Rockland County: Everything Voters Need to Know Ahead of November 3 Election

Oct 25, 2026·5 min read

Early voting for the 2026 General Election officially began Saturday, October 24, giving Rockland County residents nine days to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day on Tuesday, November 3.

The Rockland County Board of Elections has designated seven early voting locations throughout the county, with polling sites open on weekends and extended evening hours on select weekdays.

Unlike Election Day, when voters must report to their assigned polling location, registered Rockland County voters can cast their ballots at any of the seven early voting centers, regardless of which town or village they live in. For example, a Monsey resident can vote in New City, Nanuet, Pomona, or any other designated Rockland County early voting location.

Early Voting Dates and Hours

Early voting runs from Saturday, October 24, through Sunday, November 1, with the following schedule:

  • Saturday, October 24: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday, October 25: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Monday, October 26: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday, October 27: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday, October 28: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday, October 29: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Friday, October 30: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday, October 31: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday, November 1: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The extended evening hours on Tuesday and Thursday provide additional opportunities for residents who cannot vote during regular daytime hours.

  5. Haverstraw Town Hall – 1 Rosman Road, Garnerville, NY 10923
  6. Orangetown Town Hall – 26 West Orangeburg Road, Orangeburg, NY 10962
  7. Stony Point Kirkbride Hall – 5 Patriot Hills Lane, Stony Point, NY 10980

All seven locations follow the same early voting schedule.

Election Day Voting – November 3

Voters who do not participate in early voting can cast their ballots on Tuesday, November 3, when polling places across Rockland County will be open from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM.

Unlike early voting, Election Day voters must visit their assigned polling location, which may be different from the seven early voting centers.

Residents can confirm their polling location, voter registration information, and sample ballot through the New York State voter lookup system at https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/.

Anyone who has already cast a ballot during early voting cannot vote again on Election Day.

Major Races on the Ballot

The November 3 election includes several major federal, state, and local contests.

At the statewide level, Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul is seeking another term against Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman. Voters will also decide races for state attorney general and comptroller.

In New York’s 17th Congressional District, Republican Congressman Mike Lawler faces Democratic challenger Cait Conley.

Rockland County voters in the 38th State Senate District will decide between Republican incumbent Bill Weber and Democratic challenger Joe Rand.

In the 97th Assembly District, Democratic incumbent Aron Wieder faces Republican Rob Bonomolo and Conservative candidate Abraham Klein.

Other Assembly and State Senate contests will appear on ballots depending on where residents live.

Important Registration and Absentee Ballot Deadlines

Saturday, October 24, was also the final deadline for voter registration applications to be received for the November 3 General Election, as well as for online and mailed applications requesting early mail or absentee ballots.

Voters who still need to obtain an early mail or absentee ballot in person have until Monday, November 2, to submit their application directly to the Board of Elections.

Completed mail ballots must be postmarked no later than November 3 and received by November 10. Ballots may also be returned in person to the Board of Elections or delivered to an authorized polling site by the applicable deadline.

The Rockland County Board of Elections also offers extended office hours for election-related services, including Sunday, October 25, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Tuesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 29, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What Voters Should Know Before Arriving

Most registered New York voters are not required to present identification when voting. However, certain first-time voters who did not provide sufficient identification when registering may be asked to show an acceptable document.

Voters who believe they are eligible but encounter a problem with their registration records have the right to request an affidavit ballot, subject to eligibility verification.

Voters who have already been issued an absentee or early mail ballot are generally not permitted to use a voting machine for the same election, but may cast an affidavit ballot if they decide to vote in person. Election officials will determine which ballot can be counted.

All seven early voting centers are accessible to voters with disabilities, and voting equipment is available to assist those who require accommodations.

Additionally, voters who are already waiting in line when a polling location closes are entitled to cast their ballots.
