ELECTION WARNING: Ben Gvir Says Jailed Terrorists Are Hoarding Food To Celebrate His Possible Departure

Oct 25, 2026·2 min read

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir says terrorists in Israeli prisons are stockpiling food in anticipation of celebrating if he does not remain in office after the elections.

Speaking Motzoei Shabbos, the Otzma Yehudit chairman said he had received information from Lavi and Ketziot prisons indicating that inmates were saving portions of their limited food rations for a potential celebration on election night.

“They are hoarding food for Tuesday evening,” Ben Gvir said. “They are saying: We want to celebrate if Ben Gvir leaves the prisons.”

The minister also said some Bedouin and Arab residents of the Negev want him removed because of his policy of demolishing illegally constructed homes.

Ben Gvir then turned his attention to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, renewing his call for her dismissal and pointing to her efforts to have him removed from office.

“I am the only minister whom Gali Baharav-Miara wanted to dismiss because, according to her, I disregard her and don’t listen to her,” he said. “It turns out I was right when I asked the prime minister to fire her.”

With voters preparing to head to the polls, Ben Gvir urged supporters to vote for parties that will cross the electoral threshold, warning that votes cast for parties that fail to enter the Knesset could undermine his camp.

“There are people who are confused and want to vote for parties that don’t cross the electoral threshold,” he said. “That is a gift to Gali Baharav-Miara, and it puts us at risk.”
