Using the Erlang Calculator, the department estimates it needs 100 emergency board operators to answer 90 percent of calls within 15 seconds, but recent data shows an average of 34 PSRs assigned to 911 in a 24 hour period. Officials say in 2025 incoming calls were answered within 15 seconds just 64% of the time.
