Bus Lanes Generate $19.6 Million in 2025 Automated bus lane cameras issued nearly 116,000 citations in 2025, generating about $19.6 million, according to a new LADOT memo. When the program first launched on Wilshire and La Brea Blvds, the cameras produced more than 5,500 tickets in a single month compared with the roughly 570 similar citations LADOT typically issued citywide. LADOT and Metro plan to expand the system, though the state law authorizing the cameras expires in 2027 unless renewed.

Tar Pit Museum Overhaul The La Brea Tar Pits and Page Museum will close for two years starting July 6 as work begins on a $240 million renovation. The approved Weiss/Manfredi plan includes expanding and updating the Page Museum and reshaping surrounding berms to create new outdoor gathering areas and improved access. Upgrades to signage, lighting, landscaping, and furniture are also planned across the 13‑acre site.

Beverly Hills Launches Drone in a Box Beverly Hills officials say the Police Department has launched a new “Drone in a Box” program that uses automated docking stations to deploy drones within about 90 seconds during emergencies. Street Lighting Repairs Nearly 200 streetlights have been repaired in Council District 5 over the past three weeks as dedicated LA Streetlights crews begin the first phase of restoring lighting and securing sites against theft and vandalism. LA Woman Arrested in Arms Sales to Iran L.A. federal prosecutors say a Woodland Hills woman was arrested at LAX Saturday night on charges of trafficking arms for the Iranian government. Hatzolah requested volunteers from Rockland Chaverim to support the search efforts. Over 70 volunteers were observed canvassing the neighborhood last night.

Flyover Alert Hillel Hebrew Academy will hold a special flyover today between 9:30 and 10 AM honoring the IDF, featuring pilots whose grandfathers flew in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence. Residents and businesses in Pico Robertson and Beverly Hills may see the aircraft as it passes overhead. The school says the flyover is part of its Yom HaAtzmaut celebrations.
