STORM DROPS MORE THAN AN INCH OF RAIN ACROSS PARTS OF LA — HEAT RETURNS NEXT Sunday’s unusual September storm delivered significantly more rain than had been predicted, with more than an inch falling across several parts of the Los Angeles area. Rainfall totals from the storm: Bel Air/Westwood area — 1.50 inches Burbank — 1.41 inches Beverly Hills — 1.35 inches Van Nuys — 0.99 inch Downtown Los Angeles — 0.72 inch The totals were particularly notable because forecasts ahead of the storm had generally called for much lighter rainfall across the LA basin. Now comes another weather change. Los Angeles is headed into several hot days this week, before temperatures cool down again heading into the weekend and before Rosh Hashanah.
