Israeli Flags Confiscated at Paris Concert

Feb 16, 2026·2 min read

Security guards at the Casino de Paris confiscated Israeli flags from attendees at a concert by Itay Levy Motzoei Shabbos, in what many present described as an openly discriminatory and antisemitic action targeting Jews and Israelis.

Witnesses said security staff refused to allow Israeli flags into the venue and later swept through the audience to seize flags that had been smuggled inside; a move attendees viewed as an attempt to suppress Jewish identity and pro-Israel expression in a city already struggling with rising antisemitism.

Levy, who performed wrapped in an Israeli flag, condemned the venue’s conduct after being informed of the confiscations. He said he would have stopped the concert had he known earlier, calling the practice unacceptable.

The event’s producer, Keren HaYesod, denounced the flag ban as a clear violation of the audience’s national, cultural, and personal rights, and as yet another example of discriminatory treatment Jews are facing in parts of Europe. The group emphasized that suppressing Israeli symbols in this manner is both intolerant and harmful, especially at an event aimed at cultural celebration and community solidarity.

Despite the incident, the organization said the crowd’s unity and pride ultimately overtook the negativity, with the audience refusing to let an act of prejudice define the night.
