VIDEOS: Munkatcher Rebbe, Shlita, Hosts Melava Malka Sheva Brachos in Honor of Tzedek Head Rabbi Moshe Margaretten
In a moving display of gratitude and appreciation for the tireless work of pidyon shvuyim, the Munkatcher Rebbe, shlita, hosted a special Melava Malka and Sheva Brachos at his residence on Motzoei Shabbos. The event celebrated the marriage of the daughter of Rabbi Moshe Margaretten, founder and president of the Tzedek organization.
The Munkatcher Rebbe has been deeply involved in selfless, comprehensive efforts on behalf of Jewish prisoners for many years. Throughout this time, the Rebbe has been instrumental in the release of numerous individuals through quiet diplomacy and efforts in the highest echelons of government.
In recent years, the Rebbe has maintained a close and constant connection with Rabbi Margaretten, guiding him in Tzedek’s extensive and complex activities.
This Sheva Brachos served as an opportunity for the Rebbe to publicly honor Rabbi Margaretten’s sublime dedication – working day and night for brethren who sit in darkness – and to recognize the vital legal team that facilitates these efforts.
The elegant event was attended by prominent businessmen, community advocates, and the esteemed lawyers who work alongside the Tzedek organization. A number of distinguished Admorim and Rabbanim graced the simchah with their presence, including:
The Bobov-45 Rebbe, shlita
The Rachmastrivka Rebbe, shlita
The Liska Rebbe, shlita, accompanied by his son, the prominent askan Rabbi Ezra Friedlander
Harav Chaim Dovid Katz, shlita, Dayan of the Satmar community in Boro Park
Harav Yaakov Ber Teitelbaum, shlita, Sigheter Rav
Harav Chaim Aharon Ungar, shlita, of the Satmar community in Williamsburg.
Tzedek attorneys Lee Vartan and Gedalia Stern attended and delivered speeches.
The evening’s program began when the Munkatcher Rebbe entered the hall and Rabbi Margaretten formally introduced the attending legal team to him. The Rebbe greeted them warmly before washing for the seudas mitzvah.
Rabbi Anshil Schwartz, a leading askan within Tzedek, delivered remarks welcoming and thanking the lawyers for their dedication. The Sigheter Rav, Harav Yaakov Ber Teitelbaum, also delivered a drashah in honor of the occasion.
When Rabbi Margaretten addressed the attendees, he expressed deep emotion at being invited into the Rebbe’s home for this special honor. He highlighted his constant reliance on the Rebbe’s wisdom, counsel, and practical guidance in the complex realm of pidyon shvuyim.
The climax of the evening was the address by the Munkatcher Rebbe. The Rebbe spoke with immense praise and high regard for Rabbi Margaretten’s historic and ongoing work. Recognizing the diverse audience, the Rebbe thoughtfully dedicated a portion of his remarks in English to directly address the legal professionals, extolling the virtues of their work in securing freedom for the incarcerated.
Rabbi Margaretten, was honored with leading Birkas Hamazon, after which the Munkatcher Rebbe recited the Sheva Brachos. The celebration concluded with spirited dancing with the chassan and the entire crowd, highlighted by a deeply moving, joyous dance between the Rebbe and Rabbi Margaretten.
