Netanyahu and Sara Bid Farewell to India’s Modi at Ben Gurion Airport After Strategic Visit Focused on Defense, AI and Trade Expansion

Feb 26, 2026·1 min read

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Sara Netanyahu held a farewell ceremony for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ben Gurion Airport as Modi wrapped up a two-day state visit and departed Israel.

The trip featured a rare Knesset address and a slate of agreements aimed at expanding cooperation across innovation, technology, trade, and security.

Modi said India and Israel will pursue deeper defense cooperation, including joint development and production and the transfer of technology, while both sides work toward a free-trade agreement.

Reuters also reported agreements on “horizon scanning” and AI-driven strategic planning tools, plus an Israeli commitment to allow an additional 50,000 Indian workers over the next five years—moves that tighten a strategic partnership as regional tensions stay high.
