The Pentagon’s first one-way “kamikaze” drone unit is now operational and ready to take part if President Donald Trump orders strikes on Iran, according to U.S. officials and analysts cited by Bloomberg. 

The unit is known as Task Force Scorpion Strike, stood up under U.S. Central Command to field low-cost, expendable attack drones in the Middle East.  Those drones include the LUCAS system, a Shahed-136-style design the U.S. reverse-engineered after Iranian one-way attack drones were used across the region and in Ukraine.
