Agudath Israel of America Names Avi Schnall As Their New Chief Operating Officer
Avi Schnall has been appointed chief operating officer of Agudath Israel of America, TLS has learned.
Schnall, who represents the 30th Legislative District in the New Jersey General Assembly, will oversee the group’s day-to-day operations, strategic planning and coordination among its regional offices and affiliated programs.
In a statement, Mr. Sol Werdiger, who serves as the chairman of Agudath Israel’s board of trustees, noted Rabbi Schnall’s long record of accomplishments with the organization, including his time as Director of the New Jersey office for nearly 10 years.
“Avi is a longtime employee of Agudas Yisroel, an effective advocate for both his home state of New Jersey as [previously] the state director, and more recently for yeshiva children across the country as our Director of Federal Education Affairs in Washington, D.C.,” Mr. Werdiger said.
Rabbi Schnall stepped down from his New Jersey position after being elected to the New Jersey General Assembly and was replaced by Shlomo Schorr.
Agudath Israel of America, founded in 1922, is the arm and voice of American Orthodox Jewry.
With national offices in both New York and Washington D.C., and 10 regional branches, Agudath Israel advocates for its constituents at the federal, state, and local levels.
