Agudath Israel of America has appointed Avi Schnall as its new Chief Operating Officer, placing the New Jersey lawmaker and longtime Agudah activist in a key national leadership role within the prominent Orthodox Jewish advocacy organization.

The announcement was made by board chairman Sol Werdiger, who praised Schnall’s long record of work on behalf of the organization and the broader Frum community. Schnall previously served as director of Agudath Israel’s New Jersey office for nearly a decade and later worked in Washington, D.C., advocating on behalf of yeshivos and religious rights at the federal level.

In his new role as COO, Schnall will oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations, strategic coordination, and collaboration between its regional offices and different programs across North America. The position places him at the center of The Aguda’s expanding advocacy and communal activities.

Schnall currently serves as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly representing the state’s 30th Legislative District. Leaders within the Aguda highlighted Schnall’s longstanding connection to the organization and his deep involvement in public affairs affecting Jewish communities and shared their excitement about the appointment and the great experince the are glad Avi brings to the table.
