Misaskim of Central Jersey Ensures Kevuras Yisroel for Niftar Who Was Facing Cremation
A potentially heartbreaking situation recently turned into a story of dignity and chesed after volunteers from Misaskim of Central Jersey stepped in to ensure that a Yid received a proper Kevuras Yisroel.
Misaskim of Central Jersey several days ago was contacted by a frum landlord who discovered that one of his tenants had passed away. The situation was particularly difficult, as the niftar had very little family support or financial means.
According to Misaskim, the niftar’s brother was overwhelmed by the circumstances and unable to afford the costs associated with burial. In his distress, he had begun making arrangements for cremation.
The landlord, troubled by the thought that a Yid might not receive a proper Jewish burial, immediately reached out to Misaskim of Central Jersey for assistance.
Volunteers quickly became involved and began working closely with the brother. “With patience and sensitivity, our volunteers explained the importance of a proper Jewish burial and assured him that the financial burden would not fall on his shoulders,” the organization said.
After many conversations and considerable effort, the brother ultimately agreed to proceed with a traditional burial – which was held this morning.
“At his request, Misaskim arranged and purchased a burial plot in a cemetery close to his home so that he would be able to visit his brother’s kever,” the organization noted.
Members of the Misaskim of Central Jersey team also traveled to perform the taharah, ensuring that the niftar would receive the dignity and respect that every Yid deserves. The organization described the effort as “a continuation of the mission and legacy that R’ Yanky Meyer Z”L championed throughout his life.”
Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of supporters who make this work possible, the niftar was brought to Kevuras Yisroel with dignity and respect.
“Another Yid was saved from cremation and given the eternal honor of a proper Jewish burial,” Misaskim said. “Baruch Hashem, together we were able to bring him to Kevuras Yisroel.”
