U.S. Gives Israel ONE WEEK to Wrap Up Iran Operation

Mar 13, 2026·2 min read

The United States has given Israel one week to wrap up its operations in Iran, according to an Israel Hayom source. The source said that Washington has determined that the military campaign is unlikely to topple the regime without a ground invasion and would like to put an end to the operation.

“Regime change would require either a ground invasion by troops or the renewal of large-scale protests inside Iran,” the source said. The U.S. views each scenario as improbable.

The military campaign — called Operation Epic Fury by the U.S. and Operation Roaring Lion by Israel — is seen differently by the respective countries. Whereas Jerusalem views the operation mostly as a strategic success, Washington is concerned about rising oil prices.

The source pointed out that despite Israel’s assassination of the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, and the decimation of much of its highest-ranking officials, Hezbollah remains a threat. The same is true of Hamas, he said.

The source criticized Israel on two grounds. The first was not pursuing with greater urgency the establishment of diplomatic ties with Arab states following Israel’s astounding military successes. The second was Israel’s actions in Judea and Samaria: The source accused Israel of using the operation in Iran as cover for the extremist elements in the government to evict Arabs from their homes and take over their land and of missing the opportunity to pursue peace-building efforts in the region.
