Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles Responds to Your ‘Ask The Mayor’ Questions: North Lake, Construction During Passover Season
The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Hello,
I live on North Lake Drive. Last year, many cars used to park on the grass near the park once all of the parking spots were taken. Obviously, this was not okay and the county needed to do something to stop these cars from parking illegally.
I’m assuming that, because of this, an orange construction fence was put up earlier this year.
This fence is still up and is quite ugly- turning one of the nicest spots in Lakewood not too scenic…
Is there any way to enforce illegal parking in a different way? Perhaps putting up a sign threatening a large monetary fee for parking there.
Looking forward to hearing back about this.
Thank you,
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good afternoon,
The fence was actually put up at the request of some neighbors to prevent leaves from blowing across the street onto newly cleaned lawns. It will be coming down shortly.
Ray
Question:
Thank you for everything.
Is it possible to. Push off this construction until after passover? These next 3 weeks leading up to the holiday are very busy and this will really impact holiday shopping and preparations
Thank you
A concerned resident.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good afternoon
We are working with the sate to eliminate road construction in the days leading up to Passover.
Thanks
Ray
