Netanyahu Jokes About “Crossing Off” Names As Huckabee Visits After Online Death Rumors
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today after traveling to see him in person following fake rumors circulating on social media that Netanyahu had been killed in an Iranian missile strike.
The rumors began spreading online after Iranian media outlets and pro regime accounts pushed unverified claims that a recent missile barrage targeting Israel may have struck a location where Netanyahu was believed to be present. The claims quickly circulated across social media despite no confirmation from Israeli officials.
Since then, pro Palestine and pro Iranian regime accounts have continued pushing the narrative online, circulating AI generated videos and images claiming Netanyahu is dead. Some of the clips attempt to argue that Netanyahu seen in recent footage is fake, pointing to AI artifacts such as distorted hands with six fingers, which were created by the rumor mongers.

During the meeting, Huckabee joked that U.S. President Donald Trump was concerned about the rumors and sent him to personally check that the Israeli leader was safe.
Netanyahu appeared amused by the speculation but also hinted at Israel’s ongoing operations, referencing what he described as a target list and remarking, “I crossed off two names today.”
Huckabee responded that he was glad not to be on the “naughty list,” prompting Netanyahu to reassure him that he was firmly on the “good list.”
