BREAKING: IRGC Spokesperson, Deputy Eliminated in Joint U.S.-Israeli Strike
Following strikes that eliminated top Iranian officials, the spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ali Mohammad Naini, and his deputy were confirmed killed in a joint U.S.-Israeli strike by Iranian state media Friday. Naini issued a few notable statements since the war began on Feb. 28 and was killed just days after thumbing his nose at the Trump administration.
On Feb. 28, the first day of the war, he issued his first notable quote: “We are prepared for all scenarios. The 12-day war proved that the military option against Iran is a failure and that our forces determine the outcome.”
On March 6, less than a week later, he issued another notable quote: “Iranian forces are ready for a long war. New weapons will soon be revealed. They have not yet been widely used. The enemy should expect painful blows in every wave of operations.”
On March 15, a little over two weeks after the campaign against Iran, he issued his most notable quote of all: “Many of the missiles we produced after the 12-day war have not yet been used. Trump claims he destroyed Iran’s navy? Then let him send his warships to the Gulf if he has the courage. Most of the missiles we are launching now were produced a decade ago.”
It gets better. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Iran’s wartime capabilities were crushed in the campaign. Iran “has no ability to enrich uranium and no ability to produce ballistic missiles,” he said at a press conference Thursday. “We are continuing to crush these capabilities. We will crush them to dust, to ashes.”
Just hours before he was killed, Naini responded, claiming that Iran’s missile building was continuing apace, as robust as ever.
“These people expect the war to continue until the enemy is completely exhausted,” he said. “This war must end when the shadow of war is lifted from the country.”
We won’t be hearing challenges from this guy anymore.
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth warned that jobs in the IRGC and Basij, a branch of the IRGC that operates as a volunteer paramilitary group, are temporary positions.
“The last job anyone in the world wants right now [is] senior leader for the IRGC or Basij,” he quipped. “Temp jobs, all of them.”
