A 29-year-old woman has died after being pulled from the water at Bush Terminal Piers Park in Sunset Park.

A 911 call for a water rescue came in around 5:50 p.m. at the park, located near 43rd Street and 1st Avenue on the outskirts of Boro Park. NYPD Harbor and scuba units responded to the scene and recovered the woman from the water.

Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures before she was transported to NYU Langone Hospital in critical condition. She later died at the hospital.

Police say it is not yet clear how the woman ended up in the water. Criminal activity is not suspected at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
