IDF Captures Two Hezbollah Radwan Terrorists in Southern Lebanon After Foiling Planned Anti-Tank Attack; Interrogation Reveals Infiltration from Beqaa Valley
IDF forces captured two armed Hezbollah operatives from the elite Radwan Force during operations in southern Lebanon over the weekend, the military announced.
According to the IDF, troops from the Givati Brigade identified the suspects as they were preparing to carry out anti-tank missile attacks against Israeli forces and targets inside Israel. Shortly afterward, the two surrendered. Weapons and additional military equipment were found in their possession.
The structure they had been operating from was later destroyed in an overnight strike.
The detainees were transferred to Israel for interrogation by Unit 504 of the Military Intelligence Directorate, which focuses on human intelligence gathering. During questioning, the operatives revealed they had deployed to southern Lebanon from the Beqaa Valley at the outset of the war with Iran.
The IDF added that the incident highlights what it described as the Lebanese army’s failure to prevent the movement of Hezbollah operatives and weapons south of the Litani River.
