
Lakewood Man Arrested in Connection with Ocean Avenue Theft

A theft from a residence on Ocean Avenue led to the arrest of a Lakewood man, police said today.
On March 19, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft that had occurred earlier in the day. According to police, the victim reported that an unknown individual entered her backyard while she was away and removed a bicycle and a leaf blower before leaving the area.
Following an investigation, officers identified Anthony Bivins, 47, of Lakewood, as the suspect. He was later located in the area of Pine Cone Liquors on Second Street and taken into custody without incident.
Bivins was charged with theft and defiant trespassing and was transported to the Ocean County Jail pending court proceedings.
