Golani Brigade Takes Out 8 Hezbollah Terrorists in Close Combat
The IDF said Tuesday that the Golani Brigade took down eight terrorists in a targeted ground operation in Lebanon last week.
The army said that the troops, operating under the command of the 36th Division, are continuing targeted missions to strengthen Israel’s forward defense position in southern Lebanon. Last week, they identified several locations where terrorists were operating.
The troops engaged the terrorists in close combat, while the brigade’s fire control center directed ground and air support. A Radwan Force sniper was among those killed. The Radwan Force is an elite unit made of specialized, deeply experienced fighters that is highly trained in cross-border infiltrations and other special operations, including urban warfare, ambushes and raids.
During the ground operation, Golani troops discovered and dismantled the tunnel shaft from which the terrorists had emerged and which was found to contain dozens of weapons, including anti-tank rockets, Kalashnikov rifles, machine guns and grenades.
