IDF Hits Hezbollah Cash Lifeline Again, Targets Fuel Network in Lebanon
The IDF said Tuesday it carried out another round of strikes over the past day targeting gas stations in Lebanon linked to the Al-Amana fuel company. Hezbollah controls the company, which generates millions of dollars in revenue that funds the terrorist organization. These strikes represent the military’s effort to choke off the flow of funds to Hezbollah.
The IDF said it incapacitated refueling stations used by Hezbollah to refuel trucks used in the transport of weapons and fighters.
The military said that the gas stations, which pay for Hezbollah’s operations, provide more evidence of the terrorist group’s use of civilians and civilian infrastructure as cover for its terrorist activities. The strikes heavily damaged Hezbollah’s infrastructure in Lebanon, putting a significant dent in its ability to plan attacks and carry out operations as nimbly as before. In addition, the IDF said the strikes represent part of a broader push to disrupt Hezbollah’s assets linked to the Al-Qard al-Hasan association in Beirut, a financial institution that provides more civilian cover for Hezbollah’s financial activities.
“The IDF is operating decisively against the Hezbollah terrorist organization in response to its deliberate decision to attack Israel on behalf of the Iranian terror regime,” the military said in a statement. “The IDF acts to remove threats to the civilians of the State of Israel.”
