Residents in Boro Park got an unusual sight as a police chase moved through the neighborhood, something that doesn’t happen often in this area.

The incident began after a vehicle was reported stolen out of Queens, with the NYPD 106th Precinct alerting the 62nd Precinct that the car was heading into their area. From there, NYPD units began pursuing the vehicle, while police helicopters flew overhead following the chase.

The car sped along Ocean Parkway, continuing onto 18th Avenue, then turning toward McDonald Avenue before heading to 20th Avenue and 86th Street.

The pursuit came to an end when the driver crashed into a pole near the train station. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

Police remained on scene following the crash and are continuing their investigation.
