At approximately 11:00 p.m. on March 19, officers were patrolling the downtown area near the New Jersey Bus Terminal when they observed a vehicle leaving a nearby gas station. The vehicle was subsequently stopped in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Center Street.

Police made contact with the driver, identified as Kyle Martin, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Following further investigation, officers requested assistance from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit. The K-9 conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle and indicated the presence of narcotics.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of suspected crack cocaine, along with packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution. Martin was placed under arrest without incident.

He was transported to Lakewood Police Headquarters for processing and later lodged in the Ocean County Jail. Following his arrest, additional suspected narcotics were recovered and linked to the investigation, including quantities of heroin, MDMA, and marijuana.

Martin was charged with multiple drug-related offenses, including possession and possession with intent to distribute, as well as a motor vehicle violation.
